Choose You . . . Be You
Want to more consistently choose to be the greatness of you? The divine expansive all-knowing you? This site is about what it takes to relax into the greatness of you.Archive for January, 2008
Key #3: Know that you are the creator source of you, all of you.
Or at the very least . . . be willing to acknowledge that you have created all of your perceptions and reflections about life.
That’s any subtle and not so subtle things you have aligned and agreed with throughout your life. Conscious or unconscious awareness.
Everything you have ever had reactions to in life. Anything you have ever resisted or reacted to, even for a tiny, tiny mile-second.
Why? Thoughts are energy, electrical charges.
Actually, electro-chemical once they are seeded in the body. That’s why we have a hard time releasing thoughts.
I suspect that emotions are generated and maintained by repeated chemical response to thought patterns. Particularly routine and well established patterns.
The body responds chemically to the electrically charged thought-forms as they pass through our awareness, mile-second by mile-second.
This chemical response organizes and cements the spontaneous forming and free-flowing electrical charges into coalescing thought patterns. And it happens in a matter of 3 seconds.
Subsequently, the chemical response make those thoughts seem real to us…more solid, addictive. Emotions.
Even a slight glance at something puts a micro-charge on any thought or reflection you have about what you sensed. Saw, tasted, heard, touched.
We are talking about something as innocent as a headline in the paper.
Hearing another person’s story and you arent’t totally in allowance of or neutral about it. Especially your own ideas, emotions, and stories…all of it.
So any little acknowledgment of something initiates a magnetic pull and trajectory in you and in the collective mind. In the universe.
I’m talking about judgment. Judgment is attention. Attention away from being in the present moment. Distraction.
Even a micro form of judgment will stick us.
Why? Because judgment, even discernment and opinion and preference, are either-or, black or white, good or bad.
Anything that compares, judges, is not spacious and open and does not allow our awareness to be open and expansive. Not easily anyway.
Expansive awareness allows spacious perception and ability to have infinite choice. And keeps us open every second to choose from our awareness of what’s best for us at that given instant. And change when needed. Again and again.
Life is not static. We tend to be. To grow we must be able to change…a lot and frequently.
That’s a simple explanation for why and how we attract things in our lives. Our individual life and the collective lives.
So what do we do about it?
The target is to empty your self of all the learned and external “stuff” that you have ever bought into as real and true about you. Which is actually everything.
And learn to be comfortable recreating yourself as life changes come your way. The small changes that come every second as well as the slower and denser ones that show up over time.
The bottom line…
1. Focus on your infinite life force energy within and around you and in the moment.
2. Follow your own inner perceptions and knowing about what’s true for you.
3. Inquire within and of the universe for guidance.
More about this in future posts.
Key #2: Allow your self to be at ease with you, all of you.
What is this all about?
Know yourself well. Trust yourself.
Be aware of what you can accept or be willing to hear and change within yourself.
And be in allowance. No judgment.
That’s being okay with whatever you see or hear or learn about yourself.
All of you. The good, the bad and the ugly—with ease and even joy. At least be willing to allow yourself to be okay about all of you.
Yes! You are infinite, a divine all-knowing being.
And, you are a finite personality plagued by emotion and endless thoughts.
You can be loving, caring and mindful.
You also can be vindictive, ruthless, and cruel. And you even could do the unthinkable, destroy or kill.
Which is hardest for you to allow yourself to believe?
1. That you are an infinite being?
2. You really do have a so-called dark side?
3. Both are true.
If you’re like me, it’s both. For years I thought that I believed I was an infinite being. At least intellectually I thought I was an infinite being. Not!
It was a constant struggle to stop doubting myself. The isn’t much in our culture to support us being our true expansive all-knowing self.
Or at least, we think that is do. Why do I say that?
If we buy into and believe the limiting reality—just a tiny bit—that we all have set up on the earth, we all have created a culture that does not support being the greatness of you or me.
It’s much safer being just above average or maybe a bit more once in a while. Sound at all familiar?
I could not be fully confident enough to reveal the full scope of my talents and abilities. Not until I could even half-way believe and acknowledge that I am an infinite being.
And, I was unwilling to run the risk of really stepping up in life and being a success!
I was unwilling to show up as me. The me I was and could be. The me I didn’t allow to exist.
So only a shadow of me walked between the cracks of the “real” world. The world that only pretends to like greatness, but really likes mediocrity.
I have always thought of myself as a kind and gracious person. And, most of the time I am.
And, that was not being totally honest with myself. I also felt mean thoughts. I was mean to my baby brother because I was jealous of him. Didn’t want to share the lime light.
Most of my life I have not been very kind to myself. I didn’t hear that charity or love started at home.
By not being willing to acknowledge my unkindness toward myself and the darker side of my personality, I cheated me and everyone else.
I was not feeling okay about all of me, all of my feelings and thoughts. I was judging me.
Judging my short comings, my indiscretions, my mis-takes, my secret hatred, and even a double whammy—Judging my judging.
The upshot. When you judge yourself all of the time, you cannot honor nor be the greatness of me.
I was actually hiding and abusing that greatness, the divine essence. That is the greatest “sin,” have you. That is the greatest indiscretion.
An exercise: Relaxing into your infinite all knowing being.
Remember those times when everything is just okay as it is? There is no self-doubt. No self judgment. No holding back your loving kindness?
And you are totally in love with and at ease about and with everything going on around you, including your self?
That’s the infinite-being experience. That’s our true self.
Let’s go there for a moment.
Breathe deeply, slowly, gently.
Allow a silent loving breath to move down your core and spread throughout your body.
Easily and lovingly breathe in and out.
Remember that? Calm and peace.
That’s allowing and receiving all of you and life with ease and loving kindness for your self.
Ahhh! Relief! So quiet, . . . so relaxing…
…No constant internal judging commentary.
…No hard fast decision making to draw you into a confining pattern.
…No coming to a stonewall conclusion about what and who you are.
…No inner criticism .
…No creating self put-downs and diminishing lies against your self.
Wow! Savor the moment.
That’s the greatness of you.
Key #1: Ask and Receive.
Ask using open-ended well thought out questions. As an infinite being you actually have access to knowing anything you need to know. As a finite personality, you will benefit by training yourself to access and trust that knowing. What will it take for you to be willing to ask and receive the guidance of the all-knowing aspects of existence? You can start by asking this simple question all of the time. ”How does it get any better than this?” When you already are experiencing great things and want to have even better results–ask, “How does it get even better than this?” Watch out now. You will soon see things getting better and better and even better. Whether you perceive and label your experiences as positive or negative, ask this question. And don’t stop when things start to get better. Ask for greatness–more ease and joy. The bottom line here is to up the ante, so you can view your life from a more expanded point of view and live your life with more ease, confidence, and happiness. Make a genuine effort to use the strategy of continually inquiring. Ask questions that will elicit expansiveness, a lightness within your being. Ask clear, succinct, well-crafted, and open-ended questions. Another open-ended question that can assist you with focusing or getting guidance for your next step, for example: ”What will it take for ________?” Give the universe time to respond. Sometimes it’s instant and most of the time it takes a while for everything to fall in place. Expansive genuine inquiry will increase your ability to choose and create the life you have dreamed about. Remember, the insights and guidance you received need to be coupled with your willingness and commitment to change, to create, to build, to take action. The questioning keeps you in the flow of the universe, your target or vision, your own unique talents and abilities, and your own truth of life. You must be really committed to do whatever it takes . . . . Like . . . “No matter what it takes I am committed to focus on my vision or target. I will take appropriate action to create it.” Even if you don’t know how it will all come together. . . . . . . Be willing to ask for guidance, follow the energy, and do whatever it takes in that moment. Only open ended inquiry will enhance and promote your expanded awareness and ability to receive insights, guidance and your own inner knowing. Simple yes-no questions, like, “Should I do this?” or “Should I choose this?” will not. Ask yes-no questions questions with an open-ended approach. ”Does this choice feel right for me? “Do I feel this choice is light and expansive for me?” “Does this choice strengthen me?” “Does this choice feel heavy and weaken me?” You will need to ask questions like these frequently. As things change. You change. Others change. The weather changes. Everything changes. You will need to stay open and flexible to change. Qualify the question also. ”Does this choice feel right for me at this time?” The choice may well feel great. Your really excited. In one week or even one minute it can change. That’s why learning to follow the subtleties of life is imperative. –>> Be aware of, question, and follow the energy within you. –>> Be aware of, question, and follow the energy from others and around you. We’ll talk about this more in later blog posts. SUMMARY: Open-ended inquiry allows you to be more open and flexible and receptive. And, give you greater access to free-will choice. Until someday you will be freer and freer and “just know” most of the time. Having the choice to create your own life . . . to be you for you is true freedom and being. Ask, Ask, Ask. Listen, Listen, Listen. Follow the energy, the insight, the guidance, the knowing. This is a pathway to assist you to have greater ability to change beyond the ordinary. Are you ready? Are you willing? Practice. Practice. Practice. Small things done consistently overtime become greatness. Walk on the earth in and with beauty, truly be here and not of it. True spirituality from my point of view.
Ask the universe for some help, for some guidance and insights.
